Dr. Kipergil holds an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in Physics Education. She further pursued a second master’s degree in Physics, followed by a PhD in Physics. She later joined University College London as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, working within the Wellcome/EPSRC Interventional and Surgical Sciences Centre. During her tenure, she lectured the Introduction to Computing in Medicine module and co-lectured Biophysics module. Dr. Kipergil has a solid foundation in both experimental and theoretical physics, with more than 15 years of teaching experience. She has tutored over 100 students from around the world.
Her research is focused on the intersection of physics and biomedical engineering, specifically in areas such as the fabrication of miniaturized optical ultrasound transmitters for interventional therapeutic applications, the development of fiber-optic sensors for high-intensity ultrasound detection, the simulation of ultrasound fields, and the characterization of ultrasonic devices. She has authored over 20 publications in leading scientific journals.
